We are thinking about moving to Cranleigh and I will need to look at the primary schools there for my 6 year old daughter. We are currently in Teddington, Middlesex and her school is absolutely fantastic. The Ofsted reports for the local schools in Cranleigh, at a glance, do not fill me with joy (apart from the Catholic school and as we are non-religious it seems doubtful my daughter will get in!). I was wondering if there were any parents with children at any of the local schools that could give me a more personal insight? Any info would be much appreciated!
    Thank you!

    Hi Katie

My 6 year old daughter is at Park Mead, starting year 2 in September. She absolutely loves it there and it is a wonderful school; in fact, I went there when I was little (and turned out OK!). We were naturally disappointed with conclusions from the OFSTED inspection last summer and have to say they did not reflect our experience of the teaching there. That said, there has been a noticeable improvement in the already high standards there since that inspection which I am sure will continue until the school is rated Good or Outstanding. I certainly wouldn’t have any qualms in recommending Park Mead to parents with young children moving to the area.

I don’t have any first hand experience of the other primary schools in the village I’m afraid.

Best of luck with your move!

One of our Twitter followers offers this advice: The primary school in Rudgwick is supposed to be great, as is The Weald for high school.
