Can anyone help with information about the shrewton primary school and also information about other state/private primary schools nearby? We really like the area but I’m struggling to work out schools as I don’t much want to drive more than 20 mins to a primary school do I ?? All advice would be much appreciated. Thank you so much

I do not know much about the school in Shrewton (except that it always seems full of kids having fun in the playground!!). However, I do know about a local – ish school. The best is Avondale in Bulford – super schoool, my daughter was there and loved it. The Head has changed since her day, but it is the daughter of the founder, so probably not that different. Very keen on manners and proper learning – they don’t have many sports facilities but a big garden serves for most things. Thriving PTA and a very friendly slightly old fashioned feel to it. I could not recommend it more highly.
Probably about 15-20 minute drive from Shrewton but sure there would be other parents around to share the pain.

If you’re going private, take a good look at Leaden Hall School – it’s in the Close at Salisbury, girls only from 3-11. Great record at getting kids into South Wilts Grammar School (7 out of 8 this year, and one got 100% in maths!) as well as other independent schools in the area, a lovely safe environment for the girls to grow up in and a warm Headmistress. My daughters loved it. They probably run a school bus from your area, or there will be plenty of parents to share a run.
