are you thinking Daily Caroline? If it’s quiet here that’s because we haven’t launched yet, just getting county contacts to register so I’m sorry no one is getting back to you!

I’m also keen to find out if that journey would be a nightmare for 3 days a week…? Do you always get a seat on that train? this website is a good idea!

    Hi Alison
Lovely to meet you on here. We haven’t yet launched so may not be much traffic but I’ll see if anyone can help you. Thanks for coming by!

Did either of you ever make this move that required a commute from Kemble? Or can anyone else offer an opinion on this? As I’m also considering a 3 day commute into London but it would be in the short term (6 months)
    Thanks, Pete

I don’t know about Kemble I’m afraid, but we are from Cheltenham (where the trainline to London is bad) and my husband did a bi-weekly commute – he worked out the quickest way very early in the morning was to drive to Swindon – but that was quite expensive both for parking and train fares, so he then ended up driving to Reading and parking there and getting the train in. Worth considering?

There are many commuters who go into London daily, the line is about to be doubled to this should help with the reliability. Kemble to London you will get a seat, on the way back you might not if late to catch train, but there are now trains which don’t stop until Reading which helps. Finally when Crossrail gets to Reading commuting into further parts of London will become much easier.

My husband does this commute twice a week and it does seem to be pretty reliable. I think he has only been late to work twice in 2 years. However, its delayed on the way home about a quarter of the time I would say. I think daily its just too long and might be a killer. Three times it should be ok. I often go in and out for meetings and its not particularly exhausting. Totally worth it though (not just for me, apparently….), its lovely here. good luck.

From one of our Twitter friends: “my sister ran a business based in London & Cherrington (nr Kemble). She and staff commuted between the two no problem”
