    Hi everyone

First post as making plans to finally leave the madness of London for the serenity of the Cotswolds (hope this is a wise decision!).

Can anyone share any tips on ways to reduce the rail ticket prices from places like Kemble, Swindon, Charlbury, Kingham (not sure which one/s we’ll be closest to yet).

I may only have to come back into London once a week and will aim for off-peak travel.

Looking on Trainline, an off peak, open return to/from Kemble, for example, seems to be £46 and that’s without any tubes, which is a little eye-watering. Are there rail cards you can buy for ad hoc travel which make it more palatable, or any tips or other websites?

    Would much appreciate any advice.

    A Twitter follower says:
“Probably an annual rail ticket best? Swindon-Padd direct is an hour; parking at Swin is more expensive than at Kemble.”

Thanks for that nugget. However, I wouldn’t be commuting in every day so not sure an annual rail ticket would be the best option as presume it’s only a saving if used at least a few times a week?
