Hi, we are planning to move from west London to Cambridge – or one of the surrounding villages – next year. We have three young kids all under 5 so the move is driven by a need for a bigger house, which is out of our reach where we live now, as well as being closer to family in Norfolk, and schools.

Hopefully I wouldn’t need to commute back to London for work, but we would want to be fairly close to Cambridge, assuming I end up working in the city somewhere.

We’d love to find a nice village with a little bit of life and local amenities, within a few miles of Cambridge.

Does anyone have any expertise or advice on the area? Thanks.

    Hi There
Firstly I apologise – I’ve only just been made aware of this post in the last 40 minutes or so.
My agencies (Thomas Morris and Fine & Country St.Neots)predominantly cover market towns and villages to the west of Cambridge. There really are a whole string of villages within about 30 minutes of Cambridge city.
Personally I would recommend the villages of Great Gransden,Little Gransden, Abbotsley, Houghton, Hilton, Holywell and Eltisley – though there are many others! It really does depend on your budget and what precisely you require in a home and location.
Please feel free to call me directly on 07870 813877 and I will be happy to clarify your requirements and put you in contact with one of my colleagues who will be able to help you further.
    I hope that helps.
