    Hello Susan.

Winchester is a great community and a very sociable city and yet whilst still quite small we are packed with historical wonders and have mainline rail access to the capital in just 1 hour.

The local area is rich in culture and countryside pursuits with many group activities to suit your needs. The South Downs, Meon Valley and the New Forest are all close by and easily accessible.

I personally live in one of the fringe villages and the buses are every 15 mins and yet I can run, walk or cycle from my own front door – with some lovely riverside routes into the city centre too.

You would be very welcome to come and trip down to Winchester and take a tour from our Jewry Street offices after a chat and some refreshment?

Good Luck – whatever you choose 🙂

Hi, this is Tim of Charters.

I have personally lived and worked the Winchester area for 20 years and I have moved about the city myself several times.

Presently, our Charters Head Office is located in Kings Worthy, just outside the city centre, and my wife and I with our dog have now moved to this district of Kings Worthy.

This locality has proved immensely successful and convenient. Our family unit enjoy the countryside on our doorstep with our dog and rarely do we now venture into the city unless for essential shopping or socialising! If we do we can walk along the river or grab a quick Bus – two every hour…

I am more than willing to chat openly and honestly with you by answering any questions you may have.

I am certain you will be made very welcome in all of our communities…

Please feel free to call me on 01962 888930

    Hello from Charters in Winchester.

Olivers Battery Road North is a great premium address, forming a no through road South of the city. The road may get busy at school drop off time as the local school is another of our excellent local schools in the area. Generally, all of the homes in this location are sought after due to individual status and location. The local secondary school (Kings) lies across the other side of Romsey Road.

Facilities and local communications are excellent.

Olivers battery itself is the district further South with shops and stunning walks onto the golf course and surrounding downs.

    Great location.

If you want to know anything more specific, might I suggest you chat to Nony at our Winchester office 01962 830880?

All the best. You will be made very WELCOME in Winchester.

in reply to: Thinking about moving to Blackwater #16150

Hi. Stephanie who works at our Charters Farnham office says…

“I have lived in Blackwater for 4 years and have found it an ideal place to live, it is somewhere quite peaceful away from the ‘hussle and bussle’ of town, but still within easy reach!

Trains from Blackwater Station operate with a half hourly service to Reading, with a direct link to Paddington. Trains do not operate directly to London, requiring a change at either Reading for London Paddington, or Guildford for London Waterloo. However, if you wanted to travel directly to London, you can jump on the train at Farnborough main station (taking 45 minutes into Waterloo), which is a 10 minute drive away!

You have a large Tesco and M&S more or less on your door step, as well as a Sainsbury’s. The closest town centre would be Camberley or Farnborough (Camberley has more to offer in the way of shops!!) For me, I travel to Guildford for shopping, which is only a half hour drive away.

Camberley offers a wide range of clothes shops, coffee shops, etc and also has a variety of restaurants, cinema and bowling alley! They have a lot to do in Camberley, depending on what your interests are.

Frogmore is a lovely area, its quiet and very green!

I hope that helps! Please feel free to contact me in the office if you would like to chat”

    Good afternoon.

Similarly, our Charters network heads back to London from Winchester! Sorry. I am affraid I dont know the Southampton scene at all, but the advice from Winkworth seems very sensible.

All the best and WELCOME HOME…

in reply to: A Good Surrey Town for single people ? #15649

    Hello Sally!

Charters estate agents have crept up the Hampshire corridor into Surrey with the opening of our Farnham office last year!

I must confess I was a bit of a Winchester fan myself until I discovered Farnham. Such a wonderful little town with good accessibility and fantastic shopping, buildings and lifestyle culture. Some great people regularly fill all the bars and restaurants and we have been made very welcome ourselves by the whole community – thus I would definitely invite you to come and visit us for a chat and a tour?

    Hope to see you soon?

We hear this is a very well renowned private school, known for boarding.

Other good private schools nearby include Salesian College, Lord Wandsworth & Farnborough Hill

Hope this helps with some direction…Good Luck!
