    Hi,

I have recently secured a job on the western outskirts of Swindon. The job starts later this year.

My wife and I have 2 young children (3 and 1) and are re-locating from South East London.

We don’t know the area that well at all so would be grateful for any advice that can be given.

We are primarily looking for a village location to live in, that does not feel too isolated, so therefore has a pub, a shop and a primary school at least as well as a strong community feel. It would also be great to be close to Cirencester.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance for your help,

    Paul

    Hi Paul,
There are some gorgeous villages in this area – Sherston in particular has a very strong community – with lots going on for families. There is a great school and a new preschool about to be built. A fabulous re-vamped playground, active church and village life. Ideal for commuting to Ciren and Swindon.
Fairford / Lechlade are fabulous too – great community, shops and a small market town.
Shout if you need any more info, happy to give you my telephone number to have a chat. I teach in a number of the nurseries and primary schools. Filkins nursery near Lechlade is super.
    Best of luck.

    Anna-Kate,

Thank you so much for your advice. I will be up and around the area at some stage over the next couple of weeks so will check those places out. I will no doubt have more questions after my tour around the area so I suspect I will definitely take you up on the offer of further advice.

    Paul
