Hi, we are thinking of moving to Epsom with our baby so we can have a garden. Is this a nice area to bring up children??

Hi there! Epsom is a beautiful area to bring up kids. My sister (currently pregnant) has lived here for a couple of years and loves it. It’s consistently ranked as one of the UK’s best place to live and it’s easy to see why! It has great shopping in the Ashley Centre, lots of good places to eat and brilliant schools. Theres also lots of green areas and is within easy reach for London and lots of great day trips are right on your doorstep.

    Hope that helps!

Have a look at http://www.visitsurrey.com and order the latest brochure – that will give you an idea of all the places nearby to visit and has a good map in it too of the whole of Surrey and public transport information. We agree with everything Victoria said too.

I was born in Epsom and still live here and have 2 children. Like most towns there are good and bad areas but the good far out weigh the bad. Very good schools both state and private. 1/2 hour from central London by train every 15min peak times. Not only do we have the downs but Epsom common, Nonsuch Park and Horton Country Park plenty of open spaces. Shops could bet better but you can get whatever you need. We have some great soft play areas like Once Upon A Time soft Play cafe. If you are on Facebook check out our page What’s On In Epsom all about local issues and events.
