Hi All, my wife, 10 month old son and I are selling our house in Sutton (under offer after 7 months on the market – tough times!) and Guildford is at the top of our list of towns to buy in. We know Guildford fairly well as we have visited often and have some friends living there. We know about the areas to avoid (park barn, Stoughton, etc) but not too sure on which areas we should focus on with a budget of 500k. Yesterday we saw a house on Cline Rd, Charlotteville and I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on this area? I know the schools are good but what if you aren’t Christian or Catholic? Does it matter in terms of registration for your child? We are ideally looking for a 3 bed house with off street parking, walking distance to high street. Any advice on what other areas we should check out? Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Matthew
Can’t offer advice on schools as I don’t have kids, but I have friends living on Chesham Road (near Cline Road) with a 2 month old, they find it quiet enough and near the high street.
We live a bit further down Charlotteville in Boxgrove area, my cousin has a child at the nursery there and says it’s excellent (there’s also a fab deli in the same area, Peacocks on Collingwood Close).
    Good luck with the search!
