    Hi All,
My husband and I (and baby) are currently in the process of relocating from east London to Amersham. We have found a property in the old town (just off the high street) that we love but I have read some press about the possible impact of HS2.
I’d love to hear from amersham residents if they are aware if noise from HS2 will be heard from the old town?

The CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) have produced a useful map showing the expected noise levels from HS2 as and when the line becomes operational – http://maps.cpre.org.uk/

The line will be tunnelled between Maple Cross and Great Missenden so any noise/vibration effects are likely to be negligible in Old Amersham unless you are unfortunate enough to be directly over the tunnel (not applicable to a property just off the High Street).

HS2 have also produced a document relating to the impact of tunnels:

    http://assets.hs2.org.uk/sites/default/files/inserts/PR28_Tunnelling%20Report%20NTS_0813.pdf

There will of course be significant disruption during the construction phase.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Kind regards

Don’t mention it. If there is anything else you think I might be able to help with, please feel free to drop me a line at alex@ayrstoneproperty.com

In the meantime, best of luck with the move!

    Alex
