    Hi all,

My name is Abdullah, I’m moving from overseas to Norwich for a PHD dgree along with my wife and 2 lovely daughters(6 years and 2 years) and looking for a place ( save, nice, close to transportation service and schools) to rent an apartment. I have red some articles about best places to live in Norwich but still I couldn’t make a decision where should I rent. If someone is familiar with the area please advise me where should I focus on. Many thanks

Good morning, Abdullah. I hope you and your family will be happy in Norfolk. Norwich is a lovely city. I assume you will be at the UEA for your studies? There are some lovely roads round there and also if you want to go a bit further into the centre of Norwich there is a part called “the golden triangle” these roads are very popular and close to the city centre and not at all far from the University. There are good buses. There are also good schools in the area so this may be useful as well for your children. Hope this helps.

    Hi Anna,

Thank you so much for your help. Yup my wife will be a PHD student at UEA starting this April. Do you have any idea about good schools and daycare in City Center? Do you think living in the city center is dangerous or consider as a save place?
    Thank you very much.

    Hello Alice

Personally I can highly recommend WYMONDHAM as a fabulous ‘just out of town’ town with fabulous schools like Wymondham College, Wymondham High, Hethersett Old School etc – with it’s mainline rail link to Norwich, you can be in the centre of Norwich in less than15 minutes, and 20 minutes if travelling by car. Wymondham itself is a great Market Town, with lots of independent shops, a Waitrose supermarket & super coffee shops. Wymondham gets my vote!

Good luck with the move – we’re all a very friendly bunch!

    Hello Abdullah

There are many lovely places to rent in Norwich, with many larger properties based along the Newmarket Road side of the City. I personally feel that having lived in Central Norwich for many years, it is a very safe City to live. I am sure that like many visitors to our very Fine City of Norwich, you will fall in love with it in no time, and will be reluctant to leave (if indeed you ever do!)

Here’s some feedback from a Twitter user: “I live in Bowthorpe which is in the west end of Norwich and is on the bus route to UEA the city is very safe”
