    Hello lovely people,

We are planning our move from East London to North Cotswolds with two little ones (5 and 1 year olds). My husband will be starting a post at the University of Warwick and will be commuting there or to Leamington Spa. We’ve been looking at Stow-on-Wold and Moreton-in-Marsh, but it’s very difficult to make a decision without knowing much about the area.
Primarily, we are looking for a town or a larger village with some shops and pubs, a good primary school, hopefully a nursery, and of course friendly community. Any recommendations are very welcome.

    Thanks so much,
    Karine

    Hi Karine,

Both Moreton in Marsh and Stow on the Wold are lovely although the latter can become quite crowded at times with tourists. Burford is also lovely and worth considering. Have you also considered Leamington? Lots of independent shops etc and plenty to do. I went to school in north Oxfordshire and was brought up just outside Leamington Spa so I know the area very well. Do let me know if you’d like to chat further. Hope this helps! Harriet Rowlands

    Dear Karine,
I have been helping people move into this area for the last 6 years. I suggest you look just outside of the Cotswolds in towns like Shipston on Stour (In the Times’s top ten places to live!) in South Warwickshire / North Oxfordshire – you will get much more for your money. Very good large villages like Tysoe, Brailes, Ilmington. I suggest you keep West / South of the M40 and away from HS2.
Do get in touch for further info if required – hope this helps
    Good luck with search
