My partner and I are looking at making the move from South London to Surrey to get closer to the countryside. One of the areas we are considering is Godalming as it looks very pretty and like the proximity to the River Wey. I also understand that it is easy to get a seat on the train to London Waterloo from either Godalming or Farncombe (although please do let me know if that is not the case).
My only concern is that I understand there is a boarding school in Godalming and that the pupils go into Godalming on the weekend. I may be getting this completely wrong so very happy to be corrected on this. My worry is that what looks like a pretty town ends up full of students from the school at the weekend. Is this the reality or am I unduly worrying about that?
