Hi depending on where you live both Peterborough and Grantham are dead easy. Peterborough is nearer to London and the quick train is about 50 minutes now and Grantham is just over the hour. Both trains go into Kings Cross. If you need anything further just let me know.
    Thanks

Again depending where in Rutland you will be, the commute from Kettering is easy too (about an hour I think).

V interested in this thread as considering a family move to the area presently. I have researched all trains from Peterborough and there are a lot and several are quick – the downside is cost regrettably. Does anyone here take the train daily from Stamford, through Peterborough, and onto London? A major journey but keen to understand if anyone does this regularly? Thanks in advance.

Daily commuting from Kettering or Market Harborough is best option. There is a service from Oakham but you have to change en route.

Good feedback and thanks. We are looking at the area to the far east of rutland/top of Northants/edge of Lincs, so a drive to Mkt Harborough would be too far realistically – hence why Peterborough is looking the best option for speedy and reliable service.

I am in this area but find it longer to get to Peterborough so I go to kettering but in our village it’s about half and half to kettering/Peterborough. U are definitely correct that MH is too far.

A few queries for which any feedback would be welcomed:

    1. About how long does it take to drive to Peterborough station from the villages near Oundle?

    2. Is it easy to park at Peterborough station at 7ish in the morning?
