I’m keen to move out of London again, I did live in Guildford but did not find it that ‘single friendly !’ Everyone was married or went to bed early

I like walking , gong to nice pubs, good food , want a good gym and some local things I can join like pub quizzes or ways to make new friends easily I also love theatre and cinema , used to work in Tv 🙂

I am looking far and wide ! And feel a bit lost now a lot of my friends live in Wimbledon streatham so I don’t want to loose touch with them, but I do long to live in the countryside

    Hi Sally
Although we do not directly cover Guildford as a town we do operate in areas that are quite similar.
Guildford you can be near the historic, bustling town centre full of shops and restaurants or you can chose to go a little further away into the more picturesque parts of the town.

Much like Guildford a lot of the towns we operate in offer a slightly smaller but bustling town centre for your everyday needs and again further out you can find properties located in a countryside setting. Ottershaw may be an area of interest, it is a lovely picturesque village between Chertsey and Woking so you are close to amenities too. We also cover Egham, Virginia Water, Woodham, New Haw, Addlestone and many more areas within close proximity.

If you would like any information or to come and have a look around the areas we operate please give us a call on 01932 807580 or email me directly at dperry@hodders.net, we would be happy to discuss anything you may require, send you details or indeed information about the areas if this helps.

If we cannot help you may want to look at Walton or Esher as these can be lovely areas to live and also offer good access via road and train to Wimbledon so you can travel to see friends with ease.

    Kind Regards
    Danielle

Also this may help, we are part of this network so we could refer you to an agent in the area you would like to relocate to https://www.relocation-agent-network.co.uk/

    Hi,
I was going to suggest Guildford, as I think that’s where I would move if I was single. Clearly I got that wrong. In smaller towns it really seems to be more about elderly single people, so in case that’s you that would work.Villages like Bookham, Fetcham, The Horsleys, Clandon etc. are either families or elderly people. Woking perhaps?

I have found that usually it’s all about the type of housing. In family friendly houses you find families. When it’s affordable for e.g. students and graduates you find more singles.

Otherwise I guess you just have to make it happen. I know a mum who felt isolated at home and started a mums pram walking group. A senior citizen in our village felt there was nothing ‘intelligent’ for men like him, and he now runs a ‘discuss world events’ group, to help retired people stay in touch with the news and meet like minded people. If you feel a lonely single in Guildford, others probably do as well. There must be loads of singles in many places, craving ‘something to do’. Start a pub quiz in your local pub, or a walking group, naming it so it attracts people like you.

    All the best!

    Hello Sally!

Charters estate agents have crept up the Hampshire corridor into Surrey with the opening of our Farnham office last year!

I must confess I was a bit of a Winchester fan myself until I discovered Farnham. Such a wonderful little town with good accessibility and fantastic shopping, buildings and lifestyle culture. Some great people regularly fill all the bars and restaurants and we have been made very welcome ourselves by the whole community – thus I would definitely invite you to come and visit us for a chat and a tour?

    Hope to see you soon?

    Good evening Sally,

I hope you have had a good day!

I am the administrator for Knights Property Services, I have been directed to your post through Twitter.

We are based in Camberley and cover Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire.

Camberley could be a choice for you to consider!

Although our town is not as big as Guildford it has a lot of plus sides: We have a large Vue cinema showing a wide range of current films and theater a 3 minute walk away. 3 minutes in the opposite direction is a leisure center housing a swimming pool, gym, saunas, hot tubs, sports halls, squash courts and several studios for their large range of fitness classes perfect for meeting some new people in the local area.

The complex housing the cinema is called The Atrium and is also home to a bowling alley and many many restraunts ( Nandos, Byron Burger, Chiquito, Prezzo to name a few). Just outside of the Atrium you will find even more choice within Pizza Express, Zizzi, Wild wood, Bill’s (I could list for some time!) throughout the town there are some nice local pubs also.

On our High Street a stones throw from some of these pubs you will find a bar and a night club open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. If a night out is something you enjoy our town has a fantastic atmosphere !

Camberley hosts a farmers market every 3rd Saturday of each month and holds exciting events throughout the year that draw large crowds. A personal favourite from 2015 was the Car show that saw hundreds of cars, food stalls, street acts and people come along for a fun free day out.

Our town has great road links to the M3 and we are on the train line to waterloo making it very easy for you to visit and keep in touch with your friends in Wimbledon.

We are not in the country side but we are home to lots of open spaces and a short car journey will take you to some beautiful local places for a stroll; Virginia Water, Frensham Ponds and Windsor Great Park are all within easy reach.

I hope this is of some help to you and you find the place that is right for you.

A rather belated response from me so my apologies.
I am surprised at Guildford however you may want to consider Thames Ditton as an area. It’s got a lovely feel to it as well as a train line into Waterloo. It’s got a good village feel to it with good shops as well as good leisure facilities. A girlfriend of mine lived in a flat here and commuted into town from Surbiton where there is also a good social life with plenty of bars and restaurants.
I would certainly suggest it’s worth taking a look.
I wish you well with your search and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’d like any further information, Liz
