Positioned in a very central location, Walton-on-Thames Town Centre can be explored on foot.  The nearby Bridge Street Conservation area and historic quarter are literally on the doorstep where a number of local pubs and Tow Path walks can be enjoyed alongside the old character houses. For those a little more intrepid the cycle ways reach Hampton Court not too far up river.

The Heart is the name given to the recent re-development of Walton town centre. It’s an retail and residential complex which includes a shopping centre with several national brand retailers plus a selection of coffee shops and eateries.

Leisure pursuits in and around the town are many and varied. Highlights include the beautiful riverside walks where one can enjoy feeding the ducks and swans. The marina offers several leisure boat trips up the River Thames. The Elmbridge Xcel Leisure Complex offers a huge variety of sports activities including swimming pools, a climbing wall, squash/badminton courts, an indoor bowls hall and a wonderful children’s multi-storey indoor play area. There are several excellent Golf courses nearby, plus easy access to the fantastic Surrey countryside on the doorstep.

Walton-on-Thames is located in north-west Surrey on the banks of the River Thames, 15 miles south west of London between the towns of Weybridge and Molesey, with a current population of circa 23,000 residents.

The River Thames, to the north, forms the boundary of the original settlement. Later development and expansion of the town took place to the south, surrounding the railway station which opened in 1838.

The area is full of excellent local schools, both state and private; a big reason as to why many residents have moved to Walton-on-Thames and commute back into the city, with journey times to London Waterloo taking approximately 25 minutes.
